About Andrew

Andrew received a BA in Political Science and an MA in English from Abilene Christian University.

He taught in high school and college in Abilene and the Dallas/Fort Worth area from 2009 to 2012. He has experience teaching freshman writing, British literature, American literature, and rhetoric.

In the spring of 2012, Andrew began community outreach by volunteering with President Obama's campaign. He was hired to work for the campaign in Jacksonville, Florida.

He joined a non-profit called Enroll America, which did community organizing and outreach in support of the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. He worked with elected officials, faith communities, and the media to hold education and enrollment events in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

In May of 2014, Andrew left Texas to work in the North Slope of Alaska for Senator Mark Begich's reelection campaign. He and his team worked with the Iñupiaq communities to register voters and get them to vote in the August primary election and the November general election.

After Alaska, Andrew rejoined Enroll America to support Affordable Care Act outreach and enrollment in Colorado. He provided a coalition of 28 non-profits with outreach planning, data analysis, targeting, and coaching services.

While in Colorado, Andrew joined the PICO National Network (now Faith in Action) as a National Data Manager. During that time he moved back to Dallas, where is worked closely with Faith in Texas, in addition to supporting several other Faith in Action federations. He was also heavily involved in his church, Preston Road Church of Christ. 

In 2017, Andrew and his friend Chelsea recently started their own consulting firm, Leaven Strategies Group. LSG provides strategic consulting services for non-profits, political candidates and organization, and businesses.

Andrew rejoined the progressive non-profit world in 2018 when he joined the Indivisible Project as the Organizing Data Manager. He moved back to Denver because he missed seasons and mountains. He is heavily involved in Saint John’s Cathedral in Denver, where he serves on the cathedral’s Faith in Action Commission.
